dolly parton is more qualified to be in the rock and roll hall of fame than the carpenters, and she was voted in. there are multiple qualifying factors. dolly parton met them, the carpenters don't.

Just how many future women artists place Kaeen Carpenter as a heavy influence in their careers. The technical ability of Richard Carpenter was ahead of his time in arraignment and production. today the is a new appreciation for their contribution . The Roll in Rock & Roll. i think Rock is still hurting from their successes way back when. Come on Hall of Fame Voters Grow up!!

I'm not going to disparage others but the HOF moved away from true rock musicians years ago if it ever actually truly stuck to a format. By not including one of the greatest singers of all time whose songs played on stations side by side with so many inducted performers, it actually lowers the award to those that are enshrined.

i totally agree, the rock and roll hof is a joke to me. so many artists that belong are not in, like the ones alread mentioned.

It is a disgrace that the Carpenters are not yet inducted! Karen Carpenter is one of the greatest female voices in American Music History. PUT THEM IN!

If Joan Baez and Tupac are in the r&r HOf, how can the carpenters, peter paul and mary, janis ian just to name a few not be in. its not been the r&r hof for a long time, change the name to the music hall of fame if you have to, but you cant deny the impact of these groups and individuals. there are so many others. what is the criteria to get in.
