Why not in the Hall of Fame? He was one of the toughest QBs to ever play the game. A life-long 49er who played with them from 1957 through 1973. One of his best years was 1965, with a 49er team that was on the way up, and had quite a few from that team still with it in 1970, when the 49ers finally made it past a first playoff game, beating the heavily favored Vikings to meet the Cowboys for the NFC Championship for what would be Kezar Stadium's last 49er game. Brodie was there in that special playoff game in 1957 against the Lions, with whom they ended the season tied for first in the Western Conference; they wouldn't have been there except that Brodie came in for an injured YA Tittle against the Colts a few weeks earlier and won the game for them.
