The fictional town of Melonville had many local singing stars, but none had less soul and swagger than Tom Monroe (Rick Moranis). Monroe could take any song and make it sound lamer than anything Perry Como could ever come up with, and we heard some of his covers, which included The Vapors, "Turning Japanese." He also covers Petula Clark's "Downtown," which makes the original sound like Metallica.
