The Dropouts

From the early 1970's animated series, "Wait 'til Your Father Gets Home," we are introduced to the Dropouts, who were just that, a bunch of college dropouts that are managed by Chet Doyle, the designated teenage son of the show who is also a deadbeat. Chet’s dad, (voiced by one of the great T.V. dads, Tom Bosley) gives Chet the money to fund a demo record, though his intent is just to stop the group from practicing in his garage. The demo gets signed by Dischord Records, and their song, "Wham Bam I'm In Love With Sam," went right to the top.
Of course, Chet blows the money and the band's second single tanks, and the group is never heard from again.
