The only good thing you could say about Dolly Parton's performance in Rhinestone is that she was not terrible as she mainly played the only thing she knew how to do; variations on Dolly Parton.

Saying that her character of Jake Farris was idiotic as she somehow signed a bad contract with one bar (The Rhinestone in New York City). And to get out of the deal, she bet the owner that she could make anyone a star, which sadly she won because her protégé was Sylvester Stallone.

Of course, we are also happy she won, because an addendum to the bet was had she lost that she had to sleep with the bar owner. We guess 1984 was not exactly "me too."
