39. Victor Oladipo

39. Victor Oladipo

Victor Oladipo was expected to do great things on the court when the Indiana Pacers drafted him in 2nd Overall in 2013.  That didn't quite work out, and he was traded to Oklahoma City, who would then trade him to Indiana before the 2017-18 Season.  It was in Indiana where the promise of Victor Oladipo has come to fruition.

In his first year with Indiana (2017-18), Oladipo’s stats shot up.  The Shooting Guard would average 23.1 Points per Game (up from 15.9, from the year before), and he would double his Steals per Game tally to 2.4, a number that won him the Steals Title.  He would win the Most Improved Player of the Year Award, was named an All-Star, was a First Team All-Defensive, and a Third Team All-NBA Selection.  More importantly, he would bring Indiana back to respectability and the playoffs.

In 2018-19, Oladipo was named an All-Star again, but he would suffer a ruptured quad halfway through the year and missed the rest of the year.  It would take until late until the next year before he returned, but he was not as productive.

Early in the 2020-21, Oladipo was traded to Houston as part of a four-team transaction that sent James Harden to Brooklyn.  Oladipo's stay in Indiana was brief, but it is there where his indivual game was at its best.
