Winn debuted in 1998, but he would not become a fixture in the Rays starting roster until the 2001 campaign when he would have a 117 Hit year with a .237 Batting Average. The year after would be one of the best of his career, where he was named an All-Star and had 181 Hits with 14 Home Runs and a Batting Average of .298.
He was traded to the Seattle Mariners after this year, where part of the compensation was Tampa’s securing of Lou Piniella as their Manager. Winn would have 513 Hits with Tampa.
