Cowens best season by far was in 1977 where he batted .312 with 23 Home Runs and 112 RBIs, all of which were career highs. Cowens would rightfully also be named a Gold Glove winner that year and would lead the American League in Total Zone Runs. He was also the runner-up for the MVP that year.
Cowens had 784 Hits with a Batting Average of .282 with the Royals.
