Dutch Leonard was a huge cog in the machine that made the Red Sox a powerhouse team in the 1910s, and while he has not received the due that he deserved, there is a good chance that they don't win the 1915 and 1916 World Series.

Leonard played the first half of his career (1913-18) with the Red Sox, where he had a 2.39 ERA in 259.1 Innings as a rookie.  In his sophomore season, Leonard had the best year of his life by going 19-5 and placing first in ERA (0.96), FIP (1.95), (0.886) and SO/9 (7.1).  Criminally, he would only place 16th in MVP voting.

Over the next two years, Leonard would have a 2.36 ERA, with a 2.17 ERA in 1917.  He was winning his share of decisions, and in he would help Boston win it all in 1915 and 1916, wherein the post-seasons he was a collective 2-0 with a 1.00 ERA.  He played more one year before being traded to the Yankees, though he would be traded later to Detroit, where he would begin his famous feud with his teammate, Ty Cobb.

Overall, Leonard would give Boston a 90-64 record 771 Strikeouts and a 2.13 ERA, and was elected to the Red Sox Hall of Fame in 2012.
