Hockey Hall of Fame inductions today!

Today is a big day in our world as the Hockey Hall of Fame will be inducting Joe Niewendyk, Mark Howe, Ed Belfour and Doug Gilmour.  This of course reminds us about the work we must do to get out new Hockey List in order!

Yeah, there are a lot of good players nowadays that haven't gotten in, which is strange because in the early 2000s they were just looking for marginal players to try and squeeze into the hall of fame due to a shortage of true greatness. Well, they got their players now.

Paul Henderson may well be a hero forever in Canada for what he did in the Super Summit, but Derek Sanderson stepped up big time, as well, in important games, and may have had a better NHL career, but he's not a HOFer, so Henderson shouldn' t be, either.
I'm not sure if Lindros will ever be forgiven for not living up to the near-impossi ble hype he received. He still had a fine career and might be in already if he wouldn't have ran into Scott Stevens' s forearms so much. Or still playing.
Every player you mentioned has a good to great shot at eventual election, IMHO. I'm afraid Leach's memory is fading as the years go by. Very unfortunate. They really need to take a closer look at Makarov.

Either class of those 2 would be pretty good.
Other people I wouldn't mind seeing get in other than those 5 would be Pavel Bure, Tom Barasso, Pierre Turgeon, Phil Housley, Jeremy Roenick, Theo Fleury, Guy Carbonneau, Alex Mogilny, and Eric Lindros. While none of those are as good as the aforemention ed 5, they all should get consideratio n at some point.
Obviously Reggie Leach is long overdo as well, and if he gets in next year I wouldn't complain at all. Sergei Makarov is another player who should be in, but will probably never make it.
I love John Leclair, but I don't think he deserves hall of fame induction.
Paul Henderson is a no IMHO.

Can't argue with that class, Everest. And, yes, Sundin can wait.

2012 Class: My prediction: Joe Sakic, Brendan Shanahan, Mats Sundin, Adam Oates
My hope: Sakic, Shanahan, Oates, Dave Andreychuk (Sundin can wait 1 year, right?)
