Traded from Cleveland to Green Bay in 1959 for a modest fourth-round draft pick, Henry Jordan proved to be one of the ultimate bargains of Vince Lombardi's tenure. A former NCAA wrestling runner-up at the University of Virginia, Jordan brought elite leverage, cat-like quickness, and rare lateral agility to right defensive tackle, using his technique to consistently shoot gaps and collapse pockets from the inside.

Jordan served as the relentless interior engine for a defense that captured five NFL Championships and the first two Super Bowls. From 1960 through 1964, he went on an absolute tear, earning five consecutive First-Team All-Pro selections. While Willie Davis provided edge pressure, Jordan harassed quarterbacks from the middle, unseating opposing guards and making key plays on the biggest stages—including a 3.5-sack performance in the 1967 Western Conference Championship against Los Angeles and 1.5 sacks in Super Bowl I.

Famous off the field for his sharp wit—once quipping that Lombardi "treats us all the same, like dogs"—Jordan was all business between the lines. Though sacks were not an official stat in his era, Pro Football Reference credits him with 59.5 unofficial sacks and 20 fumble recoveries over his 11 seasons in Green Bay, making him one of the most destructive interior pass rushers of the 1960s.

As a Packer, he compiled 59.5 unofficial sacks, 20 fumble recoveries, and one defensive touchdown for the Packers, along with five NFL Championship rings and two Super Bowl titles. A four-time Pro Bowl selection, five-time First-Team All-Pro, and member of the Packers Hall of Fame (1975), Jordan was posthumously enshrined into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1995.
