A twenty two year veteran of the National Hockey League, Mark Recchi was one of the more productive players of the 1990’s, hitting the three digit figure in points three times. The gifted playmaker was also a three time Stanley Cup Champion, winning each ring with three different squads. As he is among the top twenty in every major offensive category in his career, it is difficult to imagine that he will be ignored by the Hall of Fame, but with all due respect to Mark Recchi, he does not exactly scream first ballot Hall of Fame entry. This one should be interesting.

The best Goalie of his time, and a man with a case to say he was the best ever, Dominik Hasek had a spectacular run taking the Czech Republic to an unexpected Olympic Gold in 1998 and was a two time Hart Trophy Winner and six time Vezina Trophy Winner. If he had any real NHL talent in front of him, his fingers would be full of Stanley Cup Rings.

One of the slickest playmakers ever to come out of the United States, Doug Weight reached the magical 1,000 career point mark predominantly with assists. Weight was a consistent offensive threat throughout his career and once reached a 100-point season with the Oilers. He achieved the ultimate in team sports, capturing the Stanley Cup with the Hurricanes in 2006 and was awarded the King Clancy Award, which is given to the man who exemplifies leadership and humanitarian activities. A good man on the ice and off, Doug Weight may not make the Hall of Fame in Toronto, but we would not be surprised to see him make the version in the United States.

A somewhat disrespected goaltender, Chris Osgood, won three Stanley Cup Rings without anyone really saying that he was among the elite in his position. Granted, he played with a loaded Red Wings team, but he still backstopped the team to victory after victory.
