136. Antonio Pena

Antonio Pena had a good career as a professional wrestler in Mexico where he performed in the mid-card and used multiple personas.  His in-ring work was only a fraction of what he would become as he would have a genius like gift for showmanship and storylines and he would take over the booking role for EMLL.  Pena was a large part of the rebranding to CMLL and the booking of lighter weight wrestlers to the main event scene.  Arguably, the modern Lucha Libre that most of us seen came because Pena gave these stars that forum.

Pena, however, did not own the company and lost political control and would form AAA, which would become the hottest promotion in Mexico and they still exist today.  He died prematurely at the age of 55 due to a heart attack in 2006, but his contributions to Mexican wrestling and wrestling as a whole are unquestionable.
