Combining the Magnum P.I. name with the initials of his given name, Magnum T.A. was making major strides in the NWA. His rugged good looks made him a hit with women, but he was not a pretty boy which allowed him to gain a healthy male demographic. He was paired with Dusty Rhodes, and by the time he made Tully Blanchard quit in a brutal cage match at Starrcade, he appeared ready to make the jump to the next level. Magnum was becoming a very good wrestler, and though he had a lot to still learn, matches with Blanchard, Ric Flair and Nikita Koloff were making him better and better to the point where he could have carried the company.
Magnum T.A. did not get the chance and should he ever get in to the WWE Hall it would be based on what he would have accomplished as opposed to what he did. As he is the only one on this list who falls into that category, it makes it a more uphill climb than most.
