52. Billy Robinson

One of the purest wrestlers of all time has to be Billy Robinson. His catch as catch can style helped to influence the Japanese shoot style and he was putting on classic matches across the world winning titles everywhere he went.

Robinson was a great amateur wrestler and when he arrived to the AWA he was instantly regarded as a viable contender to Verne Gagne’s World Title. Robinson became immensely popular there and wherever fans wanted to see top notch wrestling, he would be a star.

This however did not include the WWF as he never really had any significant run there nor would he have seemingly fit in. Robinson is a legend, but that status just doesn’t seem to translate to Connecticut.
