ABBA

ABBA
Considered pure Pop perfection by their fans, the Swedish foursome truly mastered Pop hooks and has a discography that continually gains new fans.  They are considered a controversial selection as they lack Rock and Roll credibility among many music fans and the internet is littered with criticism of their induction.

Inducted in 2010. From Stockholm, Sweden

Agnetha Fältskog (vocals), Benny Andersson (keyboard), Björn Ulvaeus (guitar), Anni-Frid Lyngstad (vocals)

Should ABBA be in the Hall of Fame?

567. Gwar

Although Gwar did not create Shock Rock, they did take it to levels never before thought of. With bizarre costumes and concerts that often feature performance art and audiences getting wet (with varying liquids), a Gwar concert is unlike anything else. Musically, their intention is to be loud and fun and if you are looking for any depth, you won’t find it here.

24. Weezer

Weezer never looked like Rock Stars, and there in may have laid the charm of the what are the geekiest looking musicians of the last tthirty years.  With catchy guitar hooks riddled with tales of nerdy love, Weezer became an instant sensation.  Interestingly enough, even their failures have become successful.  Their maligned sophomore album, Pinkerton, was destroyed by critics but has since become a beloved cult album and to some, a huge influence in the Emo sound.  Weezer very well could have a successful path to the Rock and Roll Hall Fame with their Alt-laden Pop.

363. Usher

A certifiable hit maker since his teens, Usher has been cranking multiple top tens in both the Pop and R&B charts and in terms of name recognition, Usher should be near the top of any list of Rock and Roll Hall of Fame eligible artists.
