76. “Whipper” Billy Watson

Arguably the first major star from the nation of Canada, “Whipper” Billy Watson was a fixture in main eventer in the hallowed Maple Leaf Gardens for nearly two decades and was also the NWA World Heavyweight Champion.  Watson would be an excellent choice for the new Legends Wing and one representing the great history of Toronto and Canadian wrestling in general.

Tony Schiavone

The long time voice of the NWA and WCW, Tony Schiavone was beloved by some and hated by others but heard by millions.  He was on the flagship broadcast of the number two (at times number one) company in a timeline that seemingly stretched to forever and that has to be worth something.  Or maybe not.

Should Tony Schiavone be in the Hall of Fame?

189. Ted Turner

Yes, this is serious.  Ted Turner spent a lot of money trying to make World Championship Wrestling a viable competitor to the World Wrestling Federation and for a time they were regarded by quite a few wrestling fans and reporters as the number one wrestling (“rasslin”) company in the United States.   You think Vince didn’t respect Turner?  We bet that he did!

Sailor Art Thomas

As one of the first African American stars in the industry, Sailor Art Thomas was a popular star who received many World Championship Title Matches in the early 60’s. The American wrestling world was not ready to embrace a black Heavyweight Championship, though had evolved to the point where they could cheer him in the chase.
