Derek Trucks

Born to be a Blues Rock Musician (he is the nephew of the drummer of the Allman Brothers), Derek Trucks has had a decent career with his own Blues outfit. Considered one of the top guitar players of his day, Trucks has a lot of fans, but there is a very long line of Blues Guitar superstars ahead of him who should be considered for the Hall first.

Deerhoof

Many critics may have loved the Avant Garde band, Deerhoof, but Noise Rock such as this and a long lasting legacy is not exactly hand in hand. As such, Deerhoof was a very interesting Noise Rock band, but this is far from a Hall of Fame act, and we sure that this band knows it as well.

Death in Vegas

Led by one of England’s top DJs, Richard Fearless, Death in Vegas modeled his project with a pounding Big Beat sound, though the progression of their work constantly incorporates other Rock and Roll elements. Continuing to make albums and produce for other artists, Fearless’ talent is unquestionable, but like so many we speak of on this site, there is no hope for an act that failed to get American penetration.

545. Creed

Creed sold a ton of records in the late 90’s and were initially filled a void for many in a post Grunge world. It was a bit of a Catch 22 for the band as though they had a similar guitar sound, they were without the angst and brooding of their Seattle forefathers. As such they were panned by critics and trashed on the information superhighway. Regardless, that did not stop impressive record sales and though critically despised bands don’t enter the Hall, they can retire with large bank accounts.
