Hooray for Everything

Hooray for Everything
Spoofing the horrible Super Bowl Half Time shows that was disgustingly sweet and vomit inducing (though they actually appeared four times at the big game), “Up With People” was a Half Time show during a Super Bowl episode that Homer Simpson watched in the big game that his daughter helped him bet on. They would make a return at Duff Gardens, complete with all of their cheese intact, though we did miss their tribute to the Western Hemisphere.

The Bullet Points:
TV Show Appeared:
The Simpsons (1990 & 1993)

Actors:
We aren’t really sure who did the voices. Let’s assume the usual.

Songs you might remember:
Get Dancin’

Why you should vote for them:
This was a decent parody.

Why you should not vote for them:
They were awful, and parodying the worst Halftime act in Super Bowl history.

The Honey Bees

Honey Bees The
We have no problem going on record that the Honey Bees from Gilligan’s Island (well…two thirds of them anyway) were hotter and more entertaining than most of the 1960’s actual girl groups that existed. Really, how could they not be? You had the ultimate man question of the 60’s in the group (who would you rather….Ginger or Mary Ann), they looked good and their song “You Need Us” was damned catchy. Could a one and a half minute bit on a Gilligan’s Island episode get selected? Keep in mind that in this episode, they were not rescued because the Mosquitoes (A Beatles rip off group who were staying on the island) thought they were too good and would be completion! If anyone from the Sherwood Schwartz sitcom could, we would bet on Ginger and Mary Ann. Now if only they would ditch Mrs. Howell.

The Bullet Points:
TV Show Appeared:
Gilligan’s Island (1965)

Actors:
Tina Louise (Ginger)
Dawn Wells (Mary Ann)
Natalie Schaeffer (Mrs. Howell)

Songs you might remember:
You Need Us

Why you should vote for them:
They were so good, they remained castaways!

Why you should not vote for them:
We only have ninety seconds of material…oh…and Mrs. Howell!

Hi-Fye

Hi-Fye
Just to make sure we understand. A thirty something rotund blowhard could be made into a Buddy Holly knockoff and become a teen idol? We guess only in Bedrock with Fred Flintstone as this did happen in a memorable episode of the Flintstones.

Hey, That's My Bike

Hey Thats My Bike
From the “Generation X” Film, Reality Bites, we have Troy Dyer, the lead singer of “Hey, That’s My Bike”, who in Reality Bites showed his Gen X ethos, though we are so conflicted with this act.   We admittedly are not quite certain whether this is a great choice for the FRRHOF or whether he is just a douche. This could be the most befuddling choice on our ballot.

The Bullet Points:
Movie Appeared:
Reality Bites (1994)

Actors:
Ethan Hawke (Troy Dyer)
Nathan December
Jack Irons
Christopher Wagner

Songs you might remember:
Add It Up

Why you should vote for him:
Is this the ultimate Generation X flick? It might be!

Why you should not vote for him:
There is a “douche” quality about Ethan Hawke in this film.   We can’t be the only ones who think that!
