MC Skat Kat

MC Skat Kat
The only way to make Paula Abdul worse was to pair up with a rapping cartoon cat. In the video of her number one hit (How the hell did happen?) “Opposites Attract” she performed with MC Skat Kat, which is viewed today as the “Poochie” of the music video world. How this annoying cartoon made anybody buy this album is beyond us, but at the very least Paula Abdul was not the least watchable thing in her videos. Amazingly, this crappy cat got its own album, which as best as we can tell, nobody bought. Thank God for that, or we might have had a sequel!

The Bullet Points:
Album Appeared:
Forever Your Girl (1989)

Performer:
Derrick “Delight” Stevens

Songs you might remember:
Opposites Attract

Why you should vote for him:
We grant this is a number one hit; that should mean something.

Why you should not vote for him:
This sucked.

The Max Rebo Band

Max Rebo Band The
The house band at Jabba the Hut’s palace, the Max Rebo Band originally started as a trio. We aren’t speaking of the Star Wars expanded universe; rather the fact that the original film the band had three members and one song, and in George Lucas’ remastered edition, the band expanded in digital numbers and had a second song created. Can you think of any other fictional band that got an enhanced run?

The Bullet Points:
Movies Appeared:
Return of the Jedi (1983)

Actors:
Some guys in body suits and digital enhancements

Fictional Band Members:
Max Rebo
Sy Snootles
Droopy McCool

Remastered Additions:
Ak-Rev
Doda Bodonawieedo
Barquin D’an
Greeata
Lyn Me
Rappertunie
Rystall Sant
Umpass-stay
Joh Yowza

Songs you might remember:
We aren’t sure. For a catchy number, we didn’t understand it.

Why you should vote for them:
They were popular enough to generate a second song in the “enhanced” version.

Why you should not vote for them:
How good they could be if the best gig they could get was Jabba’s lair?

Max Frost and the Troopers

Max Frost and the Troopers
“Wild in the Streets” is one of the ultimate cult films whereby Max Frost; a millionaire by 19 and a politician by 24 looks to take over the American Political landscape which is what he did by lobbying to lower the voting age to 14. After he does so, with the youth vote he becomes the President and puts everyone over the age of 35 in concentration camps. Damn, we love these cheesy films!

The Bullet Points:
Movie Appeared:
Wild in the Streets (1968)

Actors:
Christopher Jones (Max Frost, Lead Singer)
Kevin Coughlin (Billy Cage, Lead Guitar)
Diane Varisi (Sally LeRoy, Keyboards)
Larry Bishop (Abraham Salteen, Bass)
Richard Pryor (Stanley X, Drums)

Songs you might remember:
Fourteen or Fight

Why you should vote for him:
We can argue that the music took Max Power to the Presidency.

Why you should not vote for them:
This was not widely viewed, and the music was lame at best.

The Mau Maus

Mau Maus The
A stereotype themselves, The Mau Maus were a rap group that objected to the VERY offensive stereotype of the New Millennium Minstrel Show which had the talent appear in blackface. We can’t say that we thought this was Director Spike Lee’s best work, and we doubt that this has a serious shot; though we had to put this fictitious group on the ballot, just for shutting down that horrible fictitious show. Spoiler alert, the police in the end with the exception of the lone white member, who was 1/16th black, shot them all.

The Bullet Points:
Movie Appeared:
Bamboozled (2000)

Actors:
Mos Def (Julius “Big Black Afrika” Hopkins)
M.C. Serch (1/16th Black)
Gano Grills (Double Blak)
Canibus (Mo Blak)
DJ Scratch (Jo Blak)
Charli Baltimore (Smooth Blak)
muMs (Hard Blak)

Songs you might remember:
None

Why you should vote for him them:
There shut down the most offensive show ever.

Why you should not vote for them:
That were offensive themselves.
