Ty Webb

Ty WebbAlthough he never kept score, we knew that Ty Webb (Chevy Chase) was an exceptional golfer. The goofy prodigy would sometimes golf blindfolded, and though he was a little on the clumsy side, he was the ladies’ man of the film. If for no ever reason, Ty Webb is on this ballot because we guarantee that everyone reading this that has ever been on a golf course has gone “nananananana”.

The Bullet Points:

Caddyshack (1980)
Caddyshack II (1988)

Torrance Shipman

Torrance Shipman
So just what does being the lead cheerleader in a (and as far as we know only) successful cheerleading movie get you in regards to our Hall of Fame? Well Torrance Shipman (Kirsten Dunst) was the lead in every way in “Bring it on” and it led to a series of direct to video sequels. It was a money maker, a surprise hit, and became iconic in the world of cheerleading. Basically it comes down to this: if you think cheerleading is a sport, this is a solid contender for out Hall, and if you don’t it won’t be.

The Bullet Points:
Movie Appeared:
Bring it on (2000)

Actor:
Kirsten Dunst

Played for:
The Toros

Why you should vote for her:
She was the unequivocal star of the show, which should mean something.

Why you should not vote for her:
Cheerleading is not exactly a sport.

Hanson Brothers
Slap Shot (1977)

Charlestown Chiefs (forward line)

Let’s forget about the forgettable sequels shall we?

Slap Shot is without any doubt the most influential hockey movie of all time.  This cannot be disputed, and if it, that person is what we like to call, wrong!

The Hanson Brothers are the first inductees into the Fictitious Athlete Hall of Fame who are inducted as a group, and how can you separate them?  Played by three legitimate hockey players (David Hanson, Steve Carlson & Jeff Carson), the bespectacled trio were simpletons off of the ice and feared goons on it.

This was the group that brought popularity to the team and arguably to the movie itself.

They were the ones you quoted, the ones you remembered the most and the most enduring characters from the film.

It is with great pleasure that the Fictitious Athlete Hall of Fame inducts the Hanson Brothers!

Old time hockey!

Quick Rick Roberts

Quick Rick Roberts
It may not be our favorite cinematic Roddy Piper performance (that will always be his role in “They Live”) but our favorite wrestler of all time only had one role as a ….wrestler. As such, we would like to nominate “Hot Rod” as “Quick” Rick Roberts; a role that did not really fit his WWF persona, but really, this is all we have.

The Bullet Points:
Movie Appeared:
Body Slam (1987)

Actor:
“Rowdy” Roddy Piper

Why you should vote for him:
We know we are not the only hardcore fans of the Rowdy one.

Why you should not vote for him:
Realistically, this is not the Roddy Piper we love.
