The Country Bears

Country Bears The
Unlike The Pirates of the Caribbean, the Country Bears did not spawn sequels, did not generate positive reviews and was not a box office success. Still, there was a segment that found the film cute, and it did have a very strong cast. This might generate a few surprise votes here and there; or it might not.

Cora Corman

Cora Corman
The Britney Spears knockoff from the 2007 film, Music & Lyrics, Cora Corman (Haley Bennett) was the eccentric teen superstar who was on top of the musical world. In the film, she pairs with former 80’s has been, Alex Fletcher (Hugh Grant) who pens for her a new song, which we assume will be a hit. This wasn’t a bad role, but we acknowledge that if anyone should get in from this film it should be “Pop”.

The Bullet Points:
Movie Appeared:
Music & Lyrics (2007)

Actor:
Haley Bennett

Songs you might remember:
Way Back Into Love

Why you should vote for her:
Of we base this on fictitious success, there are few better.

Why you should not vote for her:
Like we said, the real attention should go to Fletcher (Hugh Grant) and Pop from this film.

Conrad Birdie

Conrad Birdie
Bye Bye Birdie made Ann Margaret a star and was one of the top teen comedies of the early 60’s. In the film, she is chosen to be the “last kiss” before teen idol, Conrad Birdie enters the Army as he was drafted. Clearly inspired by Elvis Presley’s actual draft years earlier, the film was well received, though it barely did anything for Jesse Pearson, who played the teen heartthrob. If that is the case, can this really be a serious contender?

The Bullet Points:
Movie Appeared:
Bye Bye Birdie (1963)

Actor:
Jesse Pearson

Songs you might remember:
One Last Kiss
Honestly Sincere

Why you should vote for him:
The film was actually decent.

Why you should not vote for him:
He was overshadowed badly in this movie.

Connie White

Connie White
She may not have been the most talented singer in “Nashville”, but she was the most glamorous. Actually, that was the point, as she may have been the rival to the main role of Barbara Jean; she was the one who would have dominated Us Weekly if this were set now.

The Bullet Points:
Movie Appeared:
Nashville (1975)

Actor:
Karen Black

Songs you might remember:
Memphis
Rolling Stone

Why you should vote for her:
Black’s role was a little on the shallow side, but she played it well.

Why you should not vote for her:
Black, who was at the height of her career at the time, was overshadowed in this ensemble piece.
