Riley Jackson

Riley Jackson
On the Cosby Show, Elvin and Theo attend a concert by Blues Man, Riley Jackson (B.B. King) the youngsters return back to the house only to find that Riley is a long time friend of their grandparents (of course he is) and we have another episode where Bill Cosby tells us subconsciously that the music he likes is better than anything else. Luckily, the music Bill likes is pretty good; although we liked his cameo in Spies Like Us much better.

The Bullet Points:
TV Show Appeared:
The Cosby Show (1990)

Actor:
B.B. King

Songs you might remember:
None

Why you should vote for him:
King is a legend.

Why you should not vote for him:
A Cosby Show appearance is not exactly Hall of Fame worthy.

Ricky Ricardo

Ricky Ricardo
The backbone of every “I Love Lucy” episode was the antics of Lucille Ball and what zany antics she would get herself in. Sometimes, it might involve her husband, the Cuban born bandleader, Ricky Ricardo, and once in a while we would see his musical prowess. We aren’t sure where a Cuban calypso singer falls into the Fictitious Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, but this is one of the most iconic Sitcoms of all time. Does this not help?

The Bullet Points:
TV Show Appeared:
I Love Lucy (1951-57)

Actor:
Desi Arnaz

Songs you might remember:
Babalu

Why you should vote for him:
This was a massive television series, and huge at the time.

Why you should not vote for him:
This is not Rock and Roll, and realistically, Desi Arnaz was the second fiddle (by a long shot) to Lucy.

Ricky and Liv Dean

Ricky and Liv Dean
The movie Duets was not a hit, but it did teach us that Gwyneth Paltrow could actually sing, that there is a karaoke circuit with hustlers, and that based on box office returns nobody cared about those facts. If we are wrong, then perhaps you can vote for the father daughter team of Ricky (Huey Lewis) and Liv Dean (Gwyneth Paltrow) who are the main acts of the film.

The Bullet Points:
Movie Appeared:
Duets (2000)

Actors:
Huey Lewis (Ricky Dean)
Liv (Gwyneth Paltrow)

Songs you might remember:
Cruisin’

Why you should vote for them:
Their singing was actually pretty good, and generated a minor hit.

Why you should not vote for them:
Maybe they could sing, but a karaoke act for this Hall?

Richie Cunningham's Band

Richie Cunninghams Band
Was that the name of the band? We have no real idea, but we know that Richie Cunningham, Potsie Weber and Ralph Malph (and rotating drummers) could be seen often playing at Arnold’s, despite they had the lamest Rock and Roll look (even for the 50’s) and their lead singer (Potsie) sang like Pat Boone. We guess that when you are friends with Fonzie, you must get a lot of gigs.

The Bullet Points:
TV Show Appeared:
Happy Days (1974-80)

Actors:
Ron Howard
Anson Williams
Donny Most

Songs you might remember:
Countless 50’s covers.

Why you should vote for them:
More people probably heard Potsie sing more than half of the artists in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Why you should not vote for them:
They were really bad.
