Played by real rapper, Ludacris, Skinny Black was a successful Rap star from Memphis who has returned to his hometown over the July 4th Weekend. He is approached by DJay, a local pimp in the hopes of presenting his demo tape, which after he received he flushed down the toilet and after being confronted about it, informed the wannabe rapper that he never intended to do anything with it and he got pistol whipped because of it. Maybe he should have listened to the tape! The Bullet Points: Movie Appeared: Hustle & Flow (2005) Actor: Ludacris Songs you might remember: None Why you should vote for him: Ludacris is a more than capable as an actor. Why you should not vote for him: He wasn’t the star of the film, and his raps were not part of the film. {youtube}

Played by the delicious Carey Mulligan, Sissy Sullivan was from the 2011 film, Shame, where her sultry version of New York, New York was enough to get her on this ballot. Seriously, it was that hot and worthy of a nomination!

Dave Chappelle played two roles, the smaller of which saw him as the Rapper, Sir Smoke-a-Lot, which as the name suggests, was a heavy advocate of cannabis. Because we did not see him rap that much (or maybe because we ourselves were partaking when we watched this movie and don’t remember) it is hard for us to make too strong a case for this character, even if it is Dave Chappelle. The Bullet Points: Movie Appeared: Half Baked (1998) Actor: Dave Chappelle Songs you might remember: Samson Gets Me Lifted Why you should vote for him: This is not exactly relevant but we loved Chappelle’s Show. Why you should not vote for him: The role was not necessary, just a chance for Chappelle to show off another character. {youtube}

Perhaps this film was ahead of its time. From the film of the same name, Simone was a virtual creation in response to the issues of the selfish actress. Created by Viktor Taransky (Al Pacino) Simone becomes not only an acting star, but a singer who sold out a stadium (through the use of holographic technology) and thus qualifies as a nominee here. The film did not do well, but had it came out a few years later, it might have received an audience. The Bullet Points: Movie Appeared: S1m0ne (1998) Actor: Rachel Roberts Songs you might remember: None Why you should vote for her: This was ahead of its time and should be remembered. Why you should not vote for her: This was a “virtual” role. {youtube}
