With the vast amount of players who suited up for the Rams (regardless of the city) that it would be difficult to narrow it down to one player, and it certainly was. There were other Pro Football Hall of Famer with whom we easily could have slid into the top spot, but we elected to go with Merlin Olsen, the ultimate coach's player who led by example and who went down in history as one of the most outstanding Defensive Tackles the game has ever seen. (This was written before Aaron Donald took over that spot)
Justin Verlander was traded from the Detroit Tigers to help the Astros win their first World Series and before we get there let’s take a look at what the ace accomplished in Motown:
Carlos Correa was the first overall draft pick in 2012 and he would do exactly what you want from someone drafted in that spot when they debut in the Majors; he won the Rookie of the Year. Correa had 22 Home Runs as a rookie, and in the two seasons that followed would again hit 20 dingers with a Batting Average over .275. Correa had a monster season 2017 where he was an All-Star, batted .315, and finished 17th in MVP voting. He was also an integral part of the Astros first World Series Championship that year.
