Dave Burrows debuted in the NHL in 1971 with Pittsburgh after he was claimed from the Chicago Blackhawks in the Intra-League Draft.  Burrows was a defensive cornerstone for the Penguins in the '70s, focusing on his end of the ice.  Twice named an All-Star with Pittsburgh (1974 & 1976), Burrows would finish 10^th Hart Trophy voting in 1975-76.  He wasn’t known for scoring but did accumulate 108 Assists for Pittsburgh.

Syl Apps was the son of Syl Apps Sr., who was named to the Hockey Hall of Fame.  As the son of a legend, it was not easy to play hockey, but Apps Jr. was a very good player in his own right.

Alex Kovalev played 365 games with the Pittsburgh Penguins, and he first arrived when he was traded from the New York Rangers in November of 1998.  The Russian Right Winger would score 95 Points in 2000-01, which would be a career-high.  Kovalev followed that with a 76 Point campaign and then would have 64 Points in 54 Games before he was traded back to the Rangers.

When most people think of Randy Carlyle these days, they likely think of his coaching, which included helping the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim to a Stanley Cup in 2006.  What many people forget is that he was one solid hockey player who once won the Norris Trophy, an award he collected as a member of the Pittsburgh Penguins.
