Tim McGraw

A major star on the Country music scene, Tim McGraw will be another who will ask the question of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame to look at the exceptionally popular genre to potentially open their doors. As we have mentioned on the site before, with Willie Nelson out of the Hall, the New Country stars don’t stand a chance, regardless of how well they kick butt in front of a crowd.

The Wallflowers

As the son of one of the biggest musical legends ever, you could have forgiven Jakob Dylan if he never even tried to follow in his father’s footsteps. Jakob did however make a career of music and though he did not reach Bob’s levels, he had a very solid run with his band, the Wallflowers and with his Roots Rock music held his own against the biggest shadows of them all. Maybe there should be a Hall of Fame just for that.

The Pharcyde

From the Los Angeles underground, the Pharcyde were a successful Alternative Hip Hop Group who may have been a little on the eccentric side, but was often on the favorable side of the critics. With gigs at Lollapalooza they secured a large stage for their music, but by the decades end they were done as a successful group but they any group that made Perry Farrell’s main stage made it on some respectable level.

SWV

One of the most successful all women groups of the New Jack Swing era, SWV (Sisters with Voices) had a solid run throughout the 1990’s. Originating from Gospel, the group embraced a funky R&B sound and rivaled En Vogue as the top urban all female act of the early 90’s. They scored multiple hits on the R&B charts but there are serious doubts that the trio have enough on their resume to be a serious Hall contender.
