It is impossible to think of 70’s Funk without thinking of the George Clinton led groups. This may not be the origin of Funk, but Parliament-Funkadelic was clearly its zenith. This also is the only “hybrid” induction of two different bands in the Hall.
Inducted in 1997. From Detroit, Michigan, U.S.A.
Jerome “Bigfoot” Brailey (drums), George Clinton (vocals), William “Bootsy” Collins (bass, vocals), Raymond Davis (vocals), Tiki Fulwood (drums, vocals), Glenn Lamont Goins (vocals, guitar), Michael Hampton (guitar), Clarence “Fuzzy” Haskins (vocals), Eddie Hazel (guitar, vocals), Walter “Junie” Morrison (keyboards, synthesizers), Cordell “Boogie” Mosson Jr. (bass), William “Billy Bass” Nelson Jr. (bass), Gary Shider (vocals, guitar), Calvin “Thang” Simon (vocals), Grady Thomas (vocals), Bernie Worrell (keyboards, vocals)
