The experimental Krautrock band Can drew from a very eclectic group of influences which included Classical, Free Form Jazz, Electronic components and other variations of Noise. They were so unique, even attempting to say which bands were their peers is difficult to pinpoint. Can disbanded in 1978 but they left behind a collection of albums that pushed Experimental Rock to new boundaries and was cited as influential by many Post Punk bands. Had they achieved even marginal commercial success they might have a remote shot but as it stands it is just a “snowball’s chance”.
