Regular visitors of notinhalloffame.com know that we are slowly working on the top 50 of every major team in the NHL, NBA, NFL, and MLB. Once that is done, we will examine how each team honors its past players, coaches, and executives. Eventually, we will do the same with major college programs.  As such, it is important to us that Ball State University has announced the six names and a team that will be inducted into its Athletic Hall of Fame.

The event will take place on October 2.

The Class of 2026 members are:

Alex Call, Baseball, 2014-16.  Currently a member of the defending World Series Champion, the Los Angeles Dodgers, Call was the 2016 MAC Player of the Year and had a lifetime batting average of .351.

Duane Clemens, Men’s Basketball, 1997-2000.  Clemens led the Cardinals to the 2000 MAC Championship, where he won the MAC Tournament MVP.  He scored 1,585 points and 249 steals for the program.

Jahwan Edward, Football, 2011-14.  Edwards holds the school rushing record with 4,558 yards, and also boasts the Cardinals record with 51 touchdowns on the ground.  He played professionally with the San Diego Chargers, Atlanta Falcons, Jacksonville Jaguars, Miami Dolphins, and Cleveland Browns.

Nathalie Fontaine, Women’s Basketball, 2013-16.  Fontaine holds the school record for points (2,166) and guided the Cardinals to four straight WNIT appearances.  The 2016 MAC Player of the Year played for Team Sweden and later played professionally in Europe.

Dawn Ford, Women’s Diving, 1990-93.  Ford was named the MAC Diver of the Year in 1992 and 1993, and won three individual conference titles (1-meter in 1991 & 1993 and 3-meter in 1993. 

Alyssa Rio, Women’s Volleyball, 2007-10.  Rio was the 2010 MAC Defensive Player of the Year and had 2,089 career digs.

1972 Men’s Golf Team.  The team went 11-2 in dual matches and had a 36-4 record over a three-year span.  They finished the year ranked #14 and were anchored by four first-team All-MAC selections: Dick Falls, Rocky Scholley, Bob Koschman, and Max Minnick.
