gold star for USAHOF

Fred Couples inducted to the World Golf HOF

We believe that we will be looking at doing a list for the World Golf Hall of Fame in the near future. Readers have pointed out to us, that this particular institution has a level of controversy that would make it a welcome addition to our ever growing endeavor.

That particular Hall will be one greater as Fred Couples has been announced as it newest inductee; this despite not actually meeting the minimum voting percentage required. The 1992 Masters winner received 51 percent of the vote, far less than the 65 percent required for induction. A clause states that should nobody receive that plateau, the highest vote getter will be elected, providing that individual at least garners half the vote. Couples 51 percent is actually the lowest ever of any inductee. Couples himself has described himself as a very good, but not great player, and it is believed that his popularity propelled him to this status. Maybe, we should look at this as our next category!
