Not in Hall of Fame

Country music legend, Loreta Lynn, passed away at the age of 90.

Lynn made headway in the Country scene as an earnest independent woman who was proud of her working-class Kentucky roots and unafraid to call out inequities.  It resonated with many young women, appealed to lyricists and Lynn was a trailblazer who wrote most of her own hits.

Lynn did not become a success until she was 30, Lynn had eight number ones on the Country Charts with five more as a duet with Conway Twitty.  Her life was made into award-winning film, “Coal Miner’s Daughter”, which saw the woman her portrayed her, Sissy Spacek, winning the Best Actress Oscar in 1980.

Lynn was selected for the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1988.

We here at Notinhalloffame.com would like to extend our condolences to the fans, family and friends of Loretta Lynn.
