A product of the United States Hockey system, Jacob Trouba was a First Round Pick and former school MVP at Michigan. Professionally, he played his first six years in the NHL with the team that took him, the Winnipeg Jets, with each year showing marked improvement.

The Defenseman had at least 20 Points in his first three seasons, with an increase to 33 in his fourth year. Trouba fell back below 30 the year after, but had his best year as a Jet with an even 50 Points in 2018-19. That would be his last year in Winnipeg, as he was traded to the New York Rangers in that off-season.
