Straka did not have the same production as Ottawa, the New York Islanders, and Florida, but Pittsburgh thought he would be able to regain his scoring touch in a Penguins uniform. The Pens were right.
Straka only had 42 Points in 1997-98, but he nearly doubled his total the following year with 83 Points and a personal best of 35 Goals. The Czech forward would drop to 59 Points, but rebounded with a career-high 95 Points in 2000-01. That year would see the Czech star finish fourth in that metric and third in Assists (68).
A broken leg took him out for most of the following year, and he would come back with a 46 Point year. Straka would be traded to the Los Angeles Kings early in the next campaign.
With Pittsburgh, Straka accumulated 442 Points in 560 Games.
