43. Brendan Shanahan

The Hall of Fame pro career of Brendan Shanahan began in New Jersey, where the Left Wing was taken Second Overall behind Pierre Turgeon in the 1987 Draft.

Shanahan brought his elbows and scoring to New Jersey, scoring 26 Points as a rookie and 50 as a sophomore.  In his third year, he had his first 30-Goal year, finishing one below that mark in 1990-91.  Shanahan was a player on the rise, and the St. Louis Blues certainly thought so as they tendered him an offer as a Restricted Free Agent, and that is where Shanahan went to play.

He scored Shanahan 228 Points for New Jersey, and he entered the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2013.
