Muni’s NHL career began with his hometown Toronto Maple Leafs, but over five years, he only managed to play 19 Games for them. He was waived and then picked up by Edmonton, who shortly after that was sold to the Buffalo Sabres. Buffalo sold him a day later to the Pittsburgh Penguins, who traded him back to Edmonton to complete a previous trade. That may make Muni seem like a hot potato, but it will all work out in the end.
For a team whose offense was phenomenal, Muni brought a skill set that the Oilers coveted. He would penalty kill, shot block, and check anyone and everyone, and he was rewarded with three Stanley Cup Rings. Individually, he would twice finish in the top ten in Defensive Point Shares and had three top ten finishes in Plus/Minus as an Oiler.
He was not known for his offense, but he still managed 111 Points with a Plus/Minus of +153 with Edmonton.
