gold star for USAHOF

46. Craig Ludwig

46. Craig Ludwig

Craig Ludwig was brought into the then named Minnesota North Stars to provide a veteran presence in the blueline, which was exactly what he provided them for over 500 Games.

Ludwig was never considered a scorer as he only put 38 into the net over his 1,256 Game career but he was there to stop the puck by any means necessary.  Ludwig was known for his shot blocking skills beat with his stick or his body and he brought leadership to the Stars.  He was an Assistant Captain for the team for a significant stretch to his career and in his final game in the NHL he helped Dallas win their lone Stanley Cup in 1999.
