From Russia, Dmitri Kalinin was a First Round Pick in 1998 and was a regular blueliner for the Sabres two years later.

Kalinin could be a shutdown defender and a rusher on the same shift.  Three ties, Kilanin exceeded 20 Points, peaking with 34 in 2003-04, with 10 Goals, both of which were career-highs.  Kalinin left the Sabres for the same-state New York Rangers as a Free Agent in 2008 and would post 145 Points in Buffalo.
