26. Mike Foligno

26. Mike Foligno

Mike Foligno was the runner-up for the 1980 Calder to Ray Bourque, but two years later, he was traded to the Buffalo Sabres from Detroit, and he brought his signature “Foligno Leap” with him.

The “Foligno Leap” was simply a jump after scoring a goal, and the Sabres fans saw him do it often.  Foligno scored 51 Points in 56 games for Buffalo after he was traded during the 1981-82 season, and he kept up consistent numbers, peaking at 41 Goals and 80 Points in 1985-86.  He played with the Sabres until he was dealt to Toronto during the 1990-91 season, leaving behind 511 Points with Buffalo.  Foligno entered the Sabres Hall of Fame in 2005.
