An excellent two-way player, Marchand began his career in Boston, where he quickly won a Stanley Cup in 2011. Finding a groove as a Left Wing (he started his career predominantly at Center), Marchand broke out in 2015-16 with the first of what would be four straight 30-Goal seasons, and had a 100-Point year in 2018-19 where he was fifth in Hart Trophy voting. Marchand was chosen for two First Team All-Stars as a Bruin (2017 & 2021), and was a Second Team Selection in 2019 & 2020. With Boston, Marchand received Hart Trophy votes in four seasons and Frank J. Selke votes in 11 seasons.
The Bruins were a powerhouse contender for most of Marchand's time there, but by 2025, Boston was no longer at the top of the standings, and Marchand was traded to the Florida Panthers, where he promptly won his second Stanley Cup. With the Bruins, Marchand scored 976 Points with a Plus/Minus of +284.
