The British Invasion has seen its share of bands that shot to stardom in North America. Many of those bands rightfully became stars, and others became famous despite a perceived lack of talent. In retrospect no British Invasion band probably should have made it big but failed more than the Pretty Things.
Even though it is a building that we have spent a lot of our time focusing on, we admit that we sometimes forget about the sidemen wing of the Hall. Having said that, we looked at the career of Ry Cooder, who we feel may have a Hall of Fame worthy career; though in which wing he belongs to throws us off a bit.
More often than not, music inspires people to get out of their chairs and dance. With Bauhaus, it may have inspired people to sit down and mope in the basement.
The discussion that Punk dominates the thinking of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame committee is a constant one and cases for both sides can be easily made. Should the belief that the Punk side helps induction does one of the bands that planted the “Seed” of the genre garner a look?
