81. Adam Foote

One of the most interesting Hall of Fame cases belongs to Adam Foote, a player who was never an All-Star in his professional career and never finished higher than tenth in Norris Trophy voting.  Despite this, there is no doubt that Foote carried significant value for every team he played on, and his contributions would never really reflect in a box score.

Foote was a traditional stay-at-home blueliner, and while many hockey players are described as having grit, Foote might have been the literal definition of it.  His play balanced potent offenses, and he was a vital part of the Colorado Avalanche winning the Stanley Cup in both 1996 and 2001.  Foote would be asked five times to represent Canada in major international tournaments; the Olympics three times and the World Cup of Hockey twice.  Foote owns a Gold Medal in both the Olympics and the World Cup, and that does help elevate a resume that was never considered good enough to be an All-Star.
