Wietecha was a 1950 Draft Pick, but due to military service, he did not report to the Giants in 1953. Wietecha played at Defensive Back in his rookie season, but that would be a one-year experiment, as he was inserted as the Giants' Center the following year. He didn't just become a Center, and he was one of the best in Football. After he helped New York win the 1956 NFL Championship, Wietecha helped the Giants appear in many more title games, and he was a four-time Pro Bowl, one-time First Team All-Pro and two-time Second Team Second Team All-Pro. He would play 124 Games, starting all but two of them.
Wietecha would later be a successful Offensive Coordinator and would win two Super Bowl Rings in that capacity with the Green Bay Packers.
