7. Cris Carter
Perhaps it is a little controversial to place Cris Carter ahead of Randy Moss but the more we look at the numbers (which works in this case as they played in the same era), it makes more sense to do so.

Carter was the star receiver in Minnesota prior to the arrival of Randy Moss and the former Philadelphia Eagle would emerge as a Hall of a Fame entrant while wearing purple.  Carter would be selected for seven straight Pro Bowls and two First Team All-Pro rosters and three times would lead the National League Football in Touchdown Receptions.  Carter also had two consecutive seasons amassing 122 Receptions, the first of which saw him lead the NFL in that category.

Overall as a Minnesota Viking, Cris Carter had over 12,000 Yards and 110 Touchdowns.  Not bad for someone who was cast off from Philadelphia when Buddy Ryan said “all he does is catch touchdowns”.

Doesn’t really seem like a problem to have, does it?

Carter entered the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2013, a decade after Minnesota retired his number 80 and placed him in their Ring of Honor.
