Richie Cunningham's Band

Richie Cunninghams Band
Was that the name of the band? We have no real idea, but we know that Richie Cunningham, Potsie Weber and Ralph Malph (and rotating drummers) could be seen often playing at Arnold’s, despite they had the lamest Rock and Roll look (even for the 50’s) and their lead singer (Potsie) sang like Pat Boone. We guess that when you are friends with Fonzie, you must get a lot of gigs.

The Bullet Points:
TV Show Appeared:
Happy Days (1974-80)

Actors:
Ron Howard
Anson Williams
Donny Most

Songs you might remember:
Countless 50’s covers.

Why you should vote for them:
More people probably heard Potsie sing more than half of the artists in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Why you should not vote for them:
They were really bad.

Rex Manning

Rex Manning
From a film that was pegged to be a hit (until people saw it), Empire Records, we have a visit from Rex Manning, a teen idol turned has been who appears at the store to do an autograph signing. Really, he is there for there to be jokes at his expense, as he comes off as a douche and as this is a film with a strong tie in to music, they needed someone to look down on.

The Bullet Points:
Movie Appeared:
Empire Records (1995)

Actor:
Maxwell Caulfield

Songs you might remember:
Say No More (Mon Amour)

Why you should vote for him:
All we have is that this was a really good soundtrack.

Why you should not vote for him:
It was a Soundtrack that this character had nothing to do with, and he was treated as a joke.

Reverend Sherman Boyce The Voice Ballantine
A spin off of Hot in Cleveland, “The Soul Man” follows Sherman Boyce “The Voice” Ballantine who was a former R&B star who was living it up in Las Vegas who somehow receives the calling to return to the church and become a minister at his father’s church. We have always like Cedric the Entertainer, though we don’t know if this is his best work, or even something that addresses music enough to earn him an induction.

The Bullet Points:
Movie Appeared:
The Soul Man (2012-)

Actor:
Cedric the Entertainer

Songs you might remember:
None

Why you should vote for him:
Does God want you to vote for him?

Why you should not vote for him:
Music is not that important to the show.

Rembrandt Brown

Rembrandt Brown
Rembrandt “Cryin’ Man” Brown was so named for his ability to cry real tears on command during his performances. He involuntary gets sucked into a sliding vortex (while he was in on his way to perform the National Anthem at a San Francisco Giants game) and along with three scientists where they travel from one parallel Earth to another. Although he started off as a supporting character, he was the only one to be in all five seasons, and in the last season, he was the focal point of the show.

The Bullet Points:
TV Show Appeared:
Sliders (1994-2000)

Actor:
Cleavant Derricks

Songs you might remember:
Cry Like A Man

Why you should vote for him:
He was presented as being moderately successful.

Why you should not vote for him:
This is a science fiction show, and the fact that he was a singer was not really that important.
