335. Sum 41

Beloved or despised, Canada’s Sum 41 began the millennium on top with a Pop/Punk hybrid which delighted in their immaturity. This is not a shot at them, as the band was not trying to be anything they weren’t, and had a real feel in a musical world that is so manufactured. Still, they seem to be at the right place in the right time, and calling them a groundbreaking act is difficult at best.

105. Sufjan Stevens

Another of the incredible Singer/Songwriters of the last twenty years, Sufjan Stevens is an unquestionable talent who may very well be on a Hall of Fame path. Critics love him, fans love him, and already he is considered an inspiration to younger songwriters. A multi-talented star, Stevens is not just lyrically ambitious as his ability to play various instruments takes him to experimental places most of his peers never think of. You may not know his name, but believe us the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is keeping an eye on him.

Seether

In our first write up on a band from South Africa, Seether has been successful in penetrating the U.S. market with a relatively safe blend of Rock and Metal. This is not meant to be an insulting comment, as many American bands have done the same thing, but as much as we would like to see a band from the emerging continent of Africa enter the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame one day, this isn’t likely to be it.

469. Sean Paul

A major star from the Jamaican Dancehalls, Sean Paul became an International superstar with fun and accessible music. With a series of top ten hits in the 00’s, Paul definitely made a mark on the musical map, but as much as we love the music of Jamaica, the Dancehall style is not likely to gather an inductee to the Hall.
