- We really liked the 1986 movie Crossroads, which explored the legend of Robert Johnson selling his soul to the devil at a literal crossroads in Mississippi for guitar playing brilliance. If you are going to tell this story, you need a believable devil, and here we have "Scratch" who is in that role. Played by Robert Judd, Scratch had the most sinister smile that we ever saw on celluloid, and he presided over the guitar duel that almost saw the Karate Kid be forever damned. Maybe in the sequel, he will get the soul of Daniel LaRusso.
