- The Coen Brothers gave us a Cannes Award winning film in the form of “Inside Llewyn Davis” which takes a look at a week in the life of the Folk Singer in 1961. Those seven days rook place in Greenwich Village, and it captured the musical scene there almost perfectly. It was inspired by an icon of the scene, Dave Van Ronk who is probably one of the most influential musicians you never heard of. This influence certainly makes the music of the film sound genuine, which is critical for a film of this type. If this gains a cult audience, we think this could be a potential contender.
