Robin Williams was brilliant, and not only was he a great comedian but in the upper echelon of dramatic acting. One of his early proof of this was his turn as Vladimir Ivanoff, a Russian defector who sought asylum when the circus he performed at (he was a saxophone player) in New York City. We would see his struggles as a new American, and he would find solace with his instrument and would later find work at a nightclub. Admittedly, the fact that he played the sax was more of a plot device and won't see Ivanoff selling out any venues with his music. Now maybe if he learned to tell jokes?
