The Nutty Squirrels

When Alvin & the Chipmunks became a surprise sensation, it naturally bred imitators. Most had no success, but in 1959 we had the Nutty Squirrels who performed Jazz rather than Pop and released two songs, "Uh Oh Part 1" and "Uh Oh Part 2", both of which charted in the Billboard Top 100. Amazingly, they beat Alvin and the Chipmunks to television with their show, "The Nutty Squirrels Present," but that only lasted a year.
